Frequently asked questions

Q: Are volunteers remunerated ?

A: No , Volunteers offer their time for free , just to support a good cause.

Q: Who can volunteer ?

A: Anyone , who brings positive energy and spirit to help .

Q: How do I register as a volunteer ?

A: Very simple : you go to the home page , and on the left hand side you will see a box for members to sign in . Underneath that , you will see a link to Register

Q: Why do you ask about my availability and about my skills in the volunteer registration form ?

A: We basically want to make sure , that you don’t feel ‘spammed’. If you tell us , you are not available on a certain weekday , you won’t receive notifications for events that fall on that weekday . With regard to skills , it’s pretty much the same thing . For example : if we need a photographer , the last thing we want to do is to flood your inbox , if you’re not a photographer , and therefore unable to help . However , if you want to know about all charitable events anyways, you can choose the option to be informed of all our events . Sometimes , just your willingness to know and help spread the word can go a long way.

Q: How do I find out about events and register for them?

A: We like to think we’ve made this simple for you . Once you’ve registered as a member , you will begin to receive emails notifying you of events , that need volunteer support . All you have to do is read the information , and if it interests you and you are available , then simply sign in and subscribe to the event .

Q: How will I know if I am confirmed for the event ?

A: When you subscribe to an event , you will receive an email confirming we have received your request to participate . Shortly after, you will receive an email confirming , if your help is in fact needed . Please remember : it takes us a little bit of time to process requests , depending on the size of the event and the number of applicants . We will always do our best to respond to you as quickly as possible .

Q: How will I know exactly , what I will be doing as a volunteer ?

A: Volunteering differs from event to event . Not to worry ! Before each Event , you will receive a final confirmation with full details of what you need to do on the day , where to go and whom to contact

Q: What if in between subscribing and the confirmation, I have changed my mind or can no longer help out?

A: No worries. Just go to the website and unsubscribe at any time, up to 48 hours before the event.

Q: What if between subscribing and the confirmation , I have changed my mind or can no longer help out ?

A:No worries : Just go to the website and unsubscribe at any time , up to 48 hours before the event .

Q: Am I punished for a cancellation?

A: No , of course not ! We understand , that things can come up . However , cancellations are recorded , so that we are aware of what is going on and we can watch out for long-term activity trends

Q: What if I forget and don’t show up ?

A: We'll be honest with you , this isn’t a good situation , and as fun and lighthearted we want to make the volunteering experience for you , we take "no-shows" seriously . We understand there can be genuine reasons , however it is something that we need to monitor . It is most crucial , when it comes to events concerning children with special needs , for example our Funday Sunday Program . If we do not have enough volunteers to watch over the children , then the children’s safety is at risk , and that is something we are not prepared to compromise . Ever .

Q: Are there any age restrictions ?

A: Not really , though some events may have age requirements . In general , children under 16 must come accompanied by an adult guardian , and volunteers aged 16 to 18 years must have permission from their guardians .

Q: Do we get certificates for volunteering ?

A: Absolutely ! We can generate one for you automatically and email it to you.

Q: Do you reward or recognize your volunteers in any way ?

A: We don’t like to provide incentives . Ideally we would like to believe , that volunteers donate their time for the cause and nothing more . However , as a gesture of thanks , we do find our little ways to show appreciation to volunteers , who go the extra mile . To find out more about that...stand out…)
